Logan was a rescue from
China's Yulin dog meat festival. I will post a picture below
to show you his scars from being skinned alive.
Many of these dogs are
stolen and if not sold, will face a horrible death. Being burned
alive,,,skinned alive as Logan was (before a Monk saved him)
and boiled alive! The belief,,,,,the meat is better! This is
pure torture and you can find video of this online if you have
the stomach to watch. I am one that won't put my head in the
sand and all it took was seeing a dog put in a boiling pot and
a puppy being torched to death,,,,,,,to make me not want to see
anymore. The Yulin dog meat festival is VERY real. And thankfully,
one of these dogs that was starting to be tortured by being skinned
alive, was saved by a monk and now he's here in N.H.
Samoyed's happen to be
pretty popular in China, so it's not a surprise you see them
and other purebreds being tortured before being eaten, because
of the people that steal these dogs from loving homes. Street
dogs are also prey to the men that have no problem with torturing.
Logan was a miracle for
me! In so many ways I can't even write about! I had lost Aspen,,,manically
searched for another dog to love when I wasn't sure I should
have one in my condition. I finally was so tired,,,mentally,,,physically
in trying to get a dog that would fit with my cats. I talked
to Aspen all the time and I told him,,,,,,,,,,,"baby,,,,,,,,,if
I'm meant to have another dog, you will bring one to me. I can't
search anymore and I feel that's because the universe is telling
me I shouldn't have one now". I gave up the search. With
all my heart,,,,I gave it up.
Of course I was sad!
I still am mourning Aspen! And, I gave up on trying to adopt
another dog. The cats just weren't getting more friendly. That's
what I get for adopting a pride, but I couldn't separate them
either, so that's why I got all three.
Less than 2 weeks before
Christmas, I got an email from the woman that started/runs the
Samoyed rescue that rescues a lot from China and N. Korea, where
they both torture and eat dogs. Her email,,,,,,,,,she had a dog
for me and if I could be at Logan airport on Sunday, I could
have him! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't drive long distance
and couldn't find anyone that was comfortable with it. I thought
I'd loose this dog and I woke up on Thursday with an idea to
call my car mechanic's (known these guys for 18 years). I figured
maybe a guy wouldn't mind the drive. Bob picked up the phone
(we are very close) and he told me to hold on he'd call me back.
Less than 2 minutes, he called back. A woman that was there getting
her car fixed just happened to come from Boston and said she
would be more than happy to take me.
ALL falling into place!
And his name,,,,,,,,,,,,,the foster called him Sawyer, which
I liked, but I had to keep thinking Tom to come up with Sawyer.
I talked to the woman that runs this rescue and she had my Sawyer
in LOGAN UTAH!!!! And I was going to pick him up at LOGAN AIRPORT
in Boston in 3 days. The name was obvious! Logan!!!!!!!!!!!!
This baby is still under
a year old and a horse! He's big! My Aspen was a very small Samoyed,
especially for a male, so Logan being twice the size amazes me,,,,and
I am getting use to it! After all,,,,,,,my Samoyed Lakota was
just under 100lbs. I was just use to a smaller size. NOT complaining!
I like it! It's just different. *;)
My cats were just getting
use to me and then I bring in Logan. Now, Autumn who was even
letting me brush her on occasion takes off to the second floor
and Saco who loved Logan right away, couldn't take the chases
anymore, so I rarely see him. I have a cat door on the top of
the stairs to the second floor, so Logan can't go there. Willow,,,,,,,,,,,,,he
took on the challenge! hehee Siberian cats are more like dogs
than most cats and Willow shows that. He does stand up to big,
puppy Logan, but even he takes off sometimes. Other times he's
on this 72" cat condo batting Logan's ears as he walks by
or trying to bite his tail or ears. All in play! So Willow, Logan
and I are having fun while the other 2 sulk. Autumn is coming
around, but not sure how long it will take Saco.
My new fur family made
me SO happy! I love them SO much and because of the cats,,,,,,,not
one mouse in this old farmhouse! A record! I never saw that since
being here. They are not killing any! They just chased one early
in the season and from then on,,,,,,,,not a hint of a mouse.
I'm thrilled! I wished I thought about cats that are mousers
sooner. BTW,,,,Siberians are known mousers.
So, that's the story
of my sweet Logan! He went through hell and I was told he was
even on the "hook" when he was being skinned alive".
If you care to see this stuff,,,,,,,,,,look it up. I won't post
it on here. But, if you care,,,,,,,,,look up the Yulin festivals
and try to stop them. It's a worldwide effort!
My fur babies, gave me
more fresh breath in these times. I'm laughing again!
Love & Hugs,
Peggy
The picture below is
with Logan shaven, so it will show his scars from when he was
carved alive. I doubt that the Chinese meaning to kill/eat him,,,shaved
him first. From the horrific video's and pictures I've seen,,they
don't shave first. I think Logan was shaven because he did have
a skin problem that needed to be taken care of. I could find
out the details,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but,,,,,,,,I know more than what
I care to on what he went through and how so many others die
in a horrific way. My head isn't in the sand. If you read this,,,,,,,,,trust
me or look for yourself,,,,,,,,,but please do help. Hundreds
of dogs are saved by rescues every year! Thousands!!!!!!!!!!!
All of the pictures below
of Logan is when he was still in China and at a vet hospital.
Only a part of China believes in this practice of eating dogs
and cats and the torture of them before they are eaten. Most
others are like a lot of this world in trying to stop this practice!
So, there are many in China helping to get these Samoyed's to
the states and into a loving home.
The happy ending is that
Logan is now living a very spoiled and happy life in Northern
N.H. *:)
